Our After Hours Concerts Series is free to all,
and open to all ages!

Saturday, January 27 ... 5:30 PM

All-Star After Hours Concert and Magic!
We're sending Library Director Mike Kruse off to retirement with a full evening of music and magic!

The BMPL Ukulele Club who will perform some of their favorite pop, Motown, blues tunes and more!
Mike Kruse will be joined by some special guests (Adam Kruse, Michael Beck, Leon Enneking, Bill Blank, Phil Minnis) to play some songs in the Roots / Americana style.
Magic Don Miller will present his own brand of comedy magic that will keep you amazed and amused!
Topping off the evening, we'll hear Louisville's premiere jazz group, The Ron Jones Quartet!

Bryce Mullins
Fingerstyle guitarist and Batesville native, Bryce Mullins, will return to the library for a very special After Hours Concert! Bryce is classically trained, but his music extends into country, pop and beyond. Come and enjoy the amazing talent of this hometown guitar hero!

Troubadours of Divine Bliss
Those divine bliss-bringers are returning to the After Hours stage! Featuring "harmonies as smooth as Kentucky bourbon and soft as Spanish Moss," this duo is one of our favorites, blending their vocals with accordion and guitar, and playing a unique combination of folk, jazz, blues, bluegrass, zydeco, and whatever else strikes their fancy. Come and enjoy the bliss!

Matthew Ball : "The Motor City Boogie Woogie Kid"
He absolutely rocked the joint in his last After Hours appearance! Pianist/Singer and Songwriter Matthew Ball, aka The Boogie Woogie Kid, is the attorney turned musician with now over 4 million views!  A national touring artist, Matthew performs favorites from the Swing Era and more.  His performances are described as "Awesome!"  Crushing!" "Fantastic!"

Emily Ann & Kelly Thompson
From fast, high-energy jigs and reels to captivating airs and songs, Emily Ann Thompson’s performance is energetic and passionate. She performs traditional Irish, Scottish, and Canadian fiddle tunes, sings in English and Irish Gaelic, and clogs while fiddling. Emily Ann’s husband, Kelly, joins her on guitar, percussion, and vocals. Emily’s brilliant fiddling with foot percussion, and her sweet, lilting voice combined with Kelly’s driving rhythmic guitar and rich, unabashed vocals create a diverse and powerful combination.

Cowbell Jazz featuring Yvonne Allu
Things will heat up at the library early in August when this 5-piece Indianapolis band hits the After Hours stage! Vocalist Yvonne Allu, joined by Michael Beck on his hybrid drum kit, along with guitar, bass, and percussionist on vibes and steel pan perform a mix of Jazz, Soul, & Pop, influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Sade, and more!

Apple Fest @ Liberty Park : To Be Announced
It's our annual After Hours Concert at Batesville's Liberty Park for the Apple Festival. We'll announce the performer as soon as we get everything lined up.

Jason Wilber
John Prine's lead guitarist is coming back to the After Hours stage for another evening of expertly crafted tunes by this Bloomington, IN, singer / songwriter. Jason was named "One of the 10 New Country Artists You Need to Know" by Rolling Stone. His stories and songs will make this a concert you'll never forget!

Ziesemer & Luckett
Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett are songwriters and guitarists. They are storytellers and yarn-spinners. They are husband and wife, and they are deeply individual. They are rootsy, folky, with a little rock, indie, and hippie thrown in for color. We welcome Greg and Kriss back to the After Hours stage!

A Yuletide Concert : Wild Carrot & Their Roots Band
Help us welcome in the Yuletide Season by welcoming back Cincinnati's Wild Carrot and their Roots Band to the After Hours stage. Pam Temple and Spencer Funk of Wild Carrot met through music, married and began performing full-time together in 2000. They were quickly voted “Best Folk Act” in their hometown of Cincinnati and have since crisscrossed the country pleasing audiences with their eclectic mix of award-winning original songs, traditional tunes, swing, blues and more. Joined by friends on bass and fiddle, they'll entertain with some of their favorite songs mixed with Christmas-time favorites.
