NOTE: These databases can be accessed by anyone from within the Batesville Memorial Public Library. For remote online access, you will need to have a valid BMPL borrower's card.

INSPIRE is Indiana's Virtual Library, a collection of academic databases and other information resources that can be accessed by Indiana residents using any computer equipped with an IP address located in Indiana and a Web browser.


BMPL card holders can access and search our collection of Gale databases. Just use your BMPL bar code number to log in.

World Book Web

The World Book Web site offers encyclopedias, a dictionary, an atlas, homework help, study aids, and curriculum guides for students of all ages.

HeritageQuest Online is a comprehensive treasury of American genealogical sources with unique primary sources, local and family histories, and finding aids. Coverage dates back to the 1700s. Data sets include the US Federal Censuses, Genealogy and local history books, the Periodical Source Index, Revolutionary War Records, and more.

    The City of Batesville, Indiana, plus those parts of Laughery and Adams Townships in Ripley County that are in the Batesville School District, and all of Ray Township in Franklin County.

    Mission Statement :
    The mission of the Batesville Memorial Public Library is to help the people of the community in their pursuit of information and education, as well as vocational and recreational endeavors, by providing current materials, services, and programs.
