Small Business Resource Center : Basics
Gale Courses offers a wide range of highly interactive courses that you can take entirely online. All of these courses are led by expert instructors, many of whom are nationally known authors. BMPL cardholders can enroll in these courses for free. As a library cardholder in good standing, you are entitled to enroll in up to five courses per calendar year at no cost. We think you'll find them fun, fast, convenient, and geared just for you. Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month. The courses listed on the accompanying pages (found here), are designed for people interested in starting their own business.
About the MSCE
The Mary Stewart Center for Entrepreneurship (MSCE) is located in the Batesville Memorial Public Library and maintains the library's open hours. Library visitors are welcome to use any of the materials in the MSCE, however in order to borrow materials one must have a valid Evergreen Indiana library card.
The MSCE collection includes books and magazines with a variety of topics of interest to the small business person or entrepreneur, including marketing strategy and business plan development, home-based business advice, financial information and company research.
Mary Stewart was a dedicated and hard-working entrepreneur, realtor and Southeastern Indiana business leader who lived and worked in Batesville. She was also a loving wife, mother and friend.
Mary passed away in 1998, but her impact and memory live on in the Mary Stewart Center for Entrepreneurship, established in 2000 and named for her.
